Lesson Nine

The Authority of the Bible

Can the Bible be trusted 100%?
How do we know that other, so called inspired writings are right or wrong?
Who wrote the Bible and how do we know they were genuine?
What about today does God want us to add to the Bible?
Some religions tells us that, in order to understand the Bible we need their commentary, is this true?

Let's see what God will do, with those who twist his Bible?
Deu 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Pro 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Pro 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

2Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Rev 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

So what about other religions that teach another way to salvation?
Luk 6:39 And He spoke a parable to them: Can the blind lead the blind? Shall they not both fall into the ditch?

Mat 15:12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying? Mat 15:13 But He answered and said, Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted shall be rooted up.

Joh 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me.
Joh 14:7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also. And from now on you know Him and have seen Him.

1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He who denies the Father and the Son is antichrist. 1Jo 2:23 Everyone who denies the Son neither has the Father. The one confessing the Son also has the Father.

1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one. 1Jo 5:8 And there are three that bear witness on the earth: the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and the three are into the one. 1Jo 5:9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. For this is the witness of God which He has testified about His Son. 1Jo 5:10 He who believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself. He who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he does not believe the record that God gave of His Son. 1Jo 5:11 And this is the record, that God has given to us everlasting life, and this life is in His Son. 1Jo 5:12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1Jo 5:13 I have written these things to you who believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have everlasting life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.

So now that we know how God feel's about his word, and those who tamper with it.
Let's see who the Lord used to bring us his Word.

The entire Bible can be divided into four sections The Law, The Psalms, The Prophets and the New Testament

Luk 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

The law of Moses: When did Moses write the law?

Exo 17:14 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
Exo 34:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou didst break.
Exo 34:27 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. Exo 34:28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

Deu 33:1 And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death. Deu 33:2 And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them. Deu 33:3 Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words. Deu 33:4 Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.

The PSALMS:
King David 73 Psalm's Moses Psalm 90 Asaph Psalms 50, 73-83
King Solomon Psalms 72 and 127 Herman Psalms 88 Ethan Psalm 89

THE PROPHETS:
Isa 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
Every one of the Prophets received their calling from the LORD as they tell us in their own books. They all spoke in the name of the LORD. We know that they are the real thing Because God confirm all their words by bringing them to pass. Jesus also confirm that these prophets were the real deal, because Jesus quoted from all the Old Testament Prophets. Giving them his affirmation that what they said, was inspired by him.

It has been said that you can find the New Testament hidden in the Old Testament. And that the New Testament reveals the entire Old Testament.

Most of the Prophets did not know one another, some ministered with gaps of time and gaps of land that separated one from another. Yet they all agree 100% There is not even one contradiction between one and another. They were all inspired by the same Holy Spirit. But today we have many religions that claim they believe in Jesus Christ, and claim to believe in the Bible. Yet when you look at their teachings and their so called prophets, you see a world of difference, between the God of the Bible and their imaginary god's. When there so called prophets make a prophecy and does not come to pass, they simply say he made a mistake. But the new prophecy is? and they keep the people who follow them in total darkness. They neither enter into the kingdom of the Lord, nor do they allow those who are seeking to enter. The blind leading the blind.

Isa 41:21 Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob. Isa 41:22 Let them bring them forth, and show us what shall happen: let them show the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come. Isa 41:23 Show the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together. Isa 41:24 Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of naught: an abomination is he that chooseth you.

Isa 42:6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; Isa 42:7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. Isa 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Isa 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
